What is the DAILY 5?

The Daily 5 is a literacy structure that teaches independence and gives children the skills needed to create a lifetime love of reading and writing. It consists of five tasks that are introduced individually. Learn more on by visiting our Daily 5 webpage.

Will my child have homework?

Yes. Each week a small amount of homework will be assigned. Homework will typically be a review of material covered in class and should require little to no support to be completed. Weekly spelling words, that introduce the Grade 3 High-Frequency Words and review the Grade 2 High-Frequency Words, will also be assigned. Work will be sent home at the beginning of the week and archived on our class page.

Students will also visit our library each week and have access to classroom books as well. Daily reading is incredibly important for young readers and highly encouraged.
