The High Prairie School Division Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, for their regularly scheduled meeting.
The meeting started with a presentation from Kienan Wilson, Director of Human Resources, who provided an update on staffing in the Division. This was followed by a presentation by Sheldon Bossert, Director of Transportation. Mr. Bossert provided Trustees with an update on fly-bys, busing for each ward in 2025-26, the hiring of a full-time spare school bus driver, and messaging to families regarding busing rules. The last delegation to the Board came from Kathleen Doucette, Safety Coordinator. Mrs. Doucette provided an update on the Safety Department and the previous school year's statistics. Additionally, Mrs. Doucette discussed the safety training being provided to staff in the Division, which is both compliant with legislation and tailored to reflect the Division's respective administrative procedures.
Trustees reviewed the documentation prepared to address the Ministerial Order #30/2025 regarding school library materials and the Fairness and Safety in Sport Act. The Division prepared supporting documentation to align HPSD procedures with the new provincial requirements.
The Board received and approved the annual Board Evaluation and the annual Superintendent Evaluation.
Trustees received and approved the Finance Report, Superintendent's Report, Trustee Reports, and Standing Committee Reports. The open portion of the meeting was adjourned, and Trustees returned to the closed portion of the meeting.
